KITCHI: SENIOR DESIGN
COLLECTION

Untitled design (1).png

Kitchi, short for the Ojibwe word Kitchi-Gammi, meaning “Big Sea,” reflects the cultural and spiritual significance of Lake Superior. Long revered by Indigenous communities and deeply influential to those who live along its shoreline, the lake has shaped both regional identity and my own personal connection to home.

This collection explores Lake Superior’s duality, drawing  particular inspiration from the winter months, when its calm, warmer summer waters take on an entirely new form. Towering waves, extreme cold, and frozen surfaces transform the landscape, creating a mysterious and somber beauty.

Through dynamic textures that convey organic movement and bold, exaggerated silhouettes that embody strength, the collection seeks to capture the essence of the lake. A moody yet calming color palette reflects its depth and frigid temperatures, while still evoking the sense of peace it brings. Utilitarian details reference the industries the lake sustains—industries that also pose a threat to its purity.

Kitchi is a tribute to the enduring beauty of Lake Superior, acknowledging its profound cultural ties and celebrating the cherished memories formed along its shores.

BOUNDARIES

A/W 25/26

JUNIOR LEVEL DRAPING TECHNIQUES

Boundaries draws from the cultural and aesthetic shifts of the 1970s, a decade defined by environmental awakening, social change, and evolving ideas of identity. Inspired by the first Earth Day, the energy crisis, and a renewed connection to nature, the collection embraces earth tones, organic textures, and a grounded palette.

The 1970s also marked a turning point in menswear. Traditional masculine dress codes began to soften as silhouettes widened, cropped, and draped in more expressive ways. Influenced by the Gay Liberation movement and growing conversations around gender and self-expression, fashion began to blur rigid expectations of masculinity.

Constructed entirely from secondhand upholstery and vinyl

fabrics, Boundaries merges these historical influences with contemporary streetwear elements. Relaxed proportions, utilitarian references, and bold texture pairings create a dialogue between past and present.

UNFLIRT

SOPHOMORE LEVEL PATTERN-MAKING TECHNIQUES

Unflirt revisits the silent rules that have long dictated how women are expected to dress in professional spaces. From classrooms to corporate offices, modesty has been marketed as credibility, and restraint as respectability. The language of dress has quietly shaped posture, presence, and power.

Rooted in the codes of classic office tailoring, this collection refines and reclaims them. Precision suiting, sculpted silhouettes, and deliberate proportions replace apology with authority. Details traditionally labeled provocative are recontextualized with control and composure, shifting the narrative from being looked at to being self possessed.

Unflirt is not about rebellion for spectacle. It is about recalibration. It proposes a modern uniform where elegance is defined by autonomy, and professionalism is no longer synonymous with self erasure.
