ASPIRING DESIGNER FROM THE MIDWEST

Growing up in Duluth, Minnesota, I was immersed in nature from an early age. That connection to the outdoors continues to shape my design perspective, influencing both my aesthetic and material choices.

I am deeply committed to sustainability, having witnessed firsthand how communities thrive when they are supported by clean and healthy environments. This commitment led me to pursue a minor in sustainability, where I explored how responsible thinking can be integrated into fashion. For me, sustainability is not a trend but an essential future of the industry.

I work primarily with natural fibers, with the exception of sourced secondhand materials. Thrifting has been a significant part of my creative development. It has shaped my understanding of texture, construction, and styling, and continues to inform the way I approach design with curiosity and resourcefulness.

'I BELIEVE THAT FASHION IS CONNECTIVITY.

SUSTAINABILITY IS INTENTIONAL AND INTENTIONALITY IS CONNECTION."

Design was not my original plan. I entered college undeclared and ultimately took a risk by declaring Creative and Technical Fashion Design with no prior sewing experience.

Sewing challenged me, but it also taught me patience, resilience, and the reward of building something from nothing. As my skills grew, I expanded into graphic design and product development, strengthening both my technical foundation and creative perspective.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Creative and Technical Fashion Design with a minor in sustainability from Iowa State University. I am currently seeking a full-time role in creative or technical design and look forward to contributing thoughtful, responsible design to the industry.
